custom ceramic tile installations
I am happy to discuss your dream installation project be it murals, wall pieces, backsplashes or bathrooms. Projects below are bespoke, each piece has no repeat tiles, each tile is cut by hand, dried, sanded, fired, glazed and re-fired. It’s a long process but well worth the time.
octopus backsplash
Private Residence — Burlington, VT
Low fire white tiles with a dark grey grout. This project used the look of a generic subway tile for the background so the octopus tiles could shine.
landscape wall mural
American Flatbread — Burlington, VT
Low fire white tiles were used and fabricated with varying textures to differentiate trees, mountains, water and buildings. Tiles were then painted with black underglaze, which was then wiped off to highlight the texture and give the piece some depth. The client wanted a scene to highlight the beauty of Vermont from hills, farms, mountains, lake and the city of Burlington… with American Flatbread at the center of it.
pine haven triptych
Private Residence — Shelburne, VT
Low fire white tiles were used and glazed clear to maintain a crisp Craftsmen look. The clients wanted a tile piece to highlight and mirror their view of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. The piece is meant to mimic the large pines that frame their view with texture added to differentiate between tree, lake, mountain and sky. The piece was kept to a tighter pattern to echo the Craftsmen style of their home.
